Kenton School is at the cutting edge of modern education. With just under 1800 students, we are amongst the largest schools in the North East. However despite our size we pride ourselves on retaining a family atmosphere and in ensuring that we cater for the needs of all our students, recognising their special gifts or talents.
The role of Support Assistant Higher Level is a challenging yet rewarding one. Providing cover for absent teachers across the school, the role brings diversity and the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of school life.
In addition to providing cover, you will also be required to assist in the identification of students who may benefit from additional support and design and deliver sessions and interventions to support their learning on either a group or individual basis. The role also involves inputting and analysing student data, supporting teachers to prepare resources for lessons, carrying out associated administrative tasks and liaising with parents/guardians, colleagues and other professionals to support teaching and learning across school.
We are seeking applications from exceptional candidates with a minimum of an A-level qualification or equivalent in a national curriculum subject combined with previous experience working with secondary school age children. You must possess a flexible approach to work, ability to use your own initiative without close supervision, excellent administrative, organisation and IT skills, and the interpersonal skills and confidence to plan and deliver high quality sessions to meet the needs of all our students, whatever their barriers.
In return Kenton School offers fantastic developmental possibilities due to its success, size, facilities and a forward thinking management and staff working together to offer the best available chances for our pupils.
If you feel you have the experience, skills and attributes to succeed as part of our team, you can visit our website www.kenton.newcastle.sch.uk or email us for an application pack at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Closing date: 12 noon on 20 June 2019.
Kenton Schools Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people in all our schools and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We are fully committed to ensuring that consistent effective safeguarding procedures are in place to support families, children and staff at school.
